Women in Tech Ghana Advances Education and Digital Inclusion in Accra–Teiman

Published on June 5, 2025

Women in Tech Ghana supported St. James Anglican Basic 1 School in Accra-Teiman through an impact initiative focused on Education and Digital Inclusion.

The chapter donated essential learning resources to strengthen classroom instruction and access to educational tools. The contribution included:

  • 2 projectors

  • 1 printer

  • 100 mathematical sets

  • 100 branded pens

  • 100 branded exercise books

  • 50 pencils

  • 24 board markers

St. James Anglican Basic 1 School serves over 700 students and operates a shift system, with students attending either morning or afternoon sessions due to limited infrastructure and space. This support addressed critical resource gaps in a deprived school community, enabling more effective teaching and improved learning experiences.

Beyond material support, the initiative included student engagement sessions where children were introduced to various career pathways and educated on safe and responsible internet usage, reinforcing the project's digital inclusion objective.

The project was delivered in partnership with the Electricity Company of Ghana, which provided funding for the projectors and printer, alongside contributions from chapter volunteers, affiliates, and members.

This initiative demonstrates Women in Tech Ghana's commitment to expanding access to education, building digital awareness, and creating sustainable community impact through strong local partnerships.
