STEAM Academy by Women in Tech Colombia: Building Skills for the Future of Work

The STEAM Academy, led by the Women in Tech Colombia Chapter, is a comprehensive capacity-building program designed to empower women with the digital, technical, and socio-emotional competencies needed to succeed in professional, academic, entrepreneurial, and business environments.

The Academy addresses both skills development and opportunity creation, ensuring participants are not only trained but also supported in applying their knowledge to real-world contexts.

Core Program Components

The STEAM Academy is structured around three integrated pillars:

• WeTalk - A series of inspirational conferences and talks that connect participants with industry leaders, role models, and change-makers. These sessions aim to broaden career perspectives, build confidence, and inspire women to pursue leadership and technology-driven roles.

• STEAM Explorer – A learning track focused on digital competencies and emerging technologies, equipping participants with practical, future-ready skills aligned with evolving market and workforce needs.

• ConnectaSTEAM – A dedicated component for strengthening socio-emotional skills and competencies, including leadership, communication, teamwork, adaptability, and problem-solving, critical enablers for long-term career and business success.

Beyond the core training, the Women in Tech Colombia Chapter enhances the STEAM Academy experience through:
