Chicas SuperTECH: Closing the Digital Gender Gap in Rural and Regional Colombia

Published on January 17, 2026

Chicas SuperTECH is a high-impact educational initiative led by the Women in Tech Colombia Chapter to empower girls and adolescents in rural and regional areas through STEAM education and strategic local government alliances. The program is designed to reduce the digital gender gap by expanding access to skills, role models, and opportunities beyond Colombia’s major urban centers.

Program Overview

Through strategic partnerships with the Government of Cundinamarca, Government of Boyacá, and local authorities in Huila, the initiative successfully delivered four structured training programs, each consisting of 12 to 24 hours of intensive, hands-on learning.
